Loretta A. Cella (Founder. Executive Program Director)
Loretta has worked with youth and adults in communities including various places in Canada, India, Kenya, Uganda, Mexico, Lebanon, Ireland, Italy, Vietnam, and the United States over the last 15 years. Her background in Child and Youth Care Counselling, facilitation, ICF certified life coach training and her Canadian Career Development Practitioner Certification allows her the knowledge and experience to create the best possible programs for youth. Loretta has also initiated for-profit employment services including a corporate social responsibility program with an national business, is a two TEDx speaker, certified in Prosci and holds a Masters Degree from Royal Roads University in Leadership.
Tia Kelly (Director)
Tia is an ICF trained coach who works with women starting their creative journeys. She teaches female entrepreneurs the essential foundations to launch their soul-centered businesses and find sustainable joy and fulfillment through connecting with their purpose and contribution to the world. She has been on the PTL board for several years and is also the cofounder of the sister initiative Global Sorority which delivers self-development and leadership education to young women globally. And she is the co-producer and film-maker for a documentary series about what it's like to be a girl from the far reaches of the planet and how their leadership development can positively impact their lives and improve communities.
Rim Slim (Director)
Rim N. Slim joined the board of the Passion to Lead Society, formerly known as the Passion Foundation, in 2014.She is a Professional Engineer with a career spanning over thirty years in telecommunications, space and defense. She worked internationally with customers in government and the private sector. Ms. Slim is an advocate for gender equality and has mentored young women in the Science, Technology and Engineering fields of study for nearly two decades. She is an active member of the Division for Advancement for Women in Engineering and Geoscience for BC’s Professional Association of Engineers and of CanWIT (Canadian Women in Technology).
Sarah Scali (Director)
Sarah is a high school trained teacher who has recently completed a Masters of Education degree at UBC in the field of Adult Learning and Global Change. She has traveled, worked, volunteered and studied in North and Central America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Outside of teaching and traveling she has a passion for photography, the outdoors and current events. Sarah has been volunteering with Passion to Lead since 2014 and has had the unique experience of helping facilitate the “Elements of Success” to groups of women in both British Columbia and South Africa, experiences that further ignited her passion for working within the capacities of this organization. Sarah has recently moved back to Vancouver, BC from China and is now working in Post-Secondary Advising, Experiential Learning and Student Development.
Daniella Gentile (Director)
Daniella has worked in the education field for over 10 years with an M.Ed focusing on international and intercultural education. As a high school teacher and advisor she has worked both locally and internationally in a number of diverse environments and currently works at UBC in their student development department. She is passionate about community service and empowering young people to make positive change within their lives and their communities through self-discovery and wellness. Daniella has been with Passion to Lead for the past year working as an educational consultant and facilitator. She truly believes in its mission and is excited to be part of its development.
Annette Maxwell (Director)
Annette has worked in the IT industry for over 13 years, with a strong background with technology, leadership and management skills. With this career she has been able to travel globally and see different cultures and how leadership skills can differ. Annette is passionate about enabling anyone who wants to become a leader to find that desire in them, and make change even if a small change for their family, career and/or community. Annette has been with Passion to Lead for three years now working to develop the Global Sorority and Passion to Lead websites.
Elizabeth Scali (Director)
Liz is an elementary school trained teacher residing in Vancouver, British Columbia. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Liz is passionate about teaching her students, regardless of their age, with a global focus, inspiring them to be empathic and active citizens who understand the diversity that exists in the world around them. Liz completed her teacher Education program at Simon Fraser University specializing in International and Global Education. She enrolled in the Oaxaca, Mexico module where she had the opportunity to teach overseas. Since then, she has taught in South Korea and British Columbia, and enjoys applying her experiences learned abroad to our multicultural BC classrooms. As much of her teaching and service experience has been overseas in the past, Liz was excited to involve herself in the initiatives of Passion to Lead as this has provided her with the opportunity for local and global involvement. Liz has been with Passion to Lead for a year and has helped to develop the Elements of Success training program, making the Train the Trainer program accessible to Educators. She is excited to continue working closely with an amazing team to spark change and be involved in meaningful projects driven to empower women around the world.
Amanda Burrows (Director)
Identifying herself as a Fundraiser first, Amanda has over six years in experience raising funds for organizations. Amanda is in her fourth season as the Development Manager for Annual Giving for Vancouver Opera and moved to Vancouver from Toronto where she worked in the Art Gallery of Ontario’s Development Department during the construction and opening of Frank Gehry’s re-imaging of the museum. Along with her career in the Arts, Amanda is passionate about volunteering for other local organizations that encourage using arts for community involvement, civic engagement, and social change. Amanda has her honours with distinction in Art History from the University of Victoria, her Masters in Museum Studies from the University of Toronto, and a graduate certificate in Fundraising Management from Ryerson.
Jonathon Cohen (Director)
Jonathon is a chartered accountant in public practice. Over his career he has been involved with several foundations and charities as a trusted advisor for a diverse portfolio of clients. Jonathon also has a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce from Ryerson University.
